Ma'reed

Oh . . . Ma'reed . . . . .
When your image - in my mind - flashes,
I get drunk with memories and
burn to ashes.

I grew up there . . . .
as a happy child
Playing with my little companions,
Runaway  . . . and hide.

I wish I were . . . still . . . .
that innocent child
Standing naked . . . .
by the sea-shore to find
No shame orworriness . . . of mankind.

And swimming in that sea . . . .
chasing the little fish . . . .
With my hand. . . .
and scattering with my feet,
Its golden sand . . . .

Oh . . . Ma'reed . . . .
My lovely land
Time keeps rolling . . .
And I am left behind.
Swimming in a sea . . . of sadness
Away . . . from my land.
